This is an autonomous modular robot for woody crops, with advanced navigation capabilities. Monitoring enables the collection of visual data and 3D point clouds to feed decision-support systems.
Equipped with advanced movement systems, Modular-E can move efficiently over a wide variety of terrain and obstacles. The robot is equipped with various sensors, including cameras, a LIDAR sensor and GPS antennae, giving it a detailed perception of its environment.
It also works as a fertiliser applicator thanks to variable rate technology and NPK sensors for the soil and leaves. It also has an ultra-efficient power tool for controlling vegetation growth in row and inter-row crops. Automatic harvesting in terraced vineyards will be available in 2025. And in the future, as well as harvesting, pruning will also be possible.
