Mobotic presents the MoboDrive STO, a drive solution tailored for Agricultural Mobile Robots and Electric Mobile Machinery operating in challenging outdoor environments. Building on our expertise in integrated steered-traction units for indoor robots, this system represents a significant leap forward in adapting proven technology for robust outdoor applications. The MoboDrive STO is engineered to deliver exceptional performance without compromising on compactness, reliability, or compliance with stringent safety standards. It boasts a load capacity of 1,200kg, maximum wheel torque of 500Nm, and a translational speed exceeding 40km/h. The unit consists of two primary sub-systems: the Steering Actuator and the Traction Unit. The Steering Actuator provides 200Nm of torque for rotary movements, achieving speeds over 90°/s. An innovative slip-ring system enables endless rotation, solving cabling challenges typical in dynamic applications.
Meanwhile, the Traction Unit features a brushless PM synchronous motor optimized for traction, a precision-engineered planetary gearbox, and an integrated electromagnetic parking and emergency brake with an optional manual release lever. Its configurable design allows customization for various torque-speed requirements. This integrated system includes advanced control electronics, encoder systems, and multiple communication interfaces such as CANopen, EtherCAT, and ProfiNET.
