BEAM-bot is a platform for tool maneuvering. The tool can be related to monitoring, censoring and manipulation in agricultural environments.
BEAM-bot spans an area of 5-10 m in width and can move on or more heavy tools (up to 150 kg in total) within that area. The objective is to minimize robot movement by operating only the tool while keeping the robot at place.
Key robotic innovations relate to robotic maneuvering: despite its width, the robot can operate in narrow spaces as it is built on two independent rovers. The rovers can either drive parallel (to fit in narrow corridors of < 1.5 m of width) or perpendicular to each other (in order to cover large areas up to 5-10 m).
