About e-VLN

COBO will bring this operating machine to the rows of the Fira. It is a vineyard tractor used by Advanced Engineering of the COBO group with the e-VLN kit installed and a sprayer carried on the rear 3P and governed in its complete functionality by xFarm.

e-VLN (e-connected Vision Lane Navigation) allows any type and brand of tractor to become a «  »robot » » where precise and safe guidance and automatic control of the implement are required. It is therefore able to replace the operator by entering the narrow aisles of vineyards, orchards, and other crops with a semi-structured layout. e-VLN does not use GPS, ground antennas for RTK corrections, Lidar, and other high-tech sensors. It is therefore simple and minimally invasive to install. Computer Vision and proprietary supervised NN allow you to automatically recognize the vineyards.

When inside the lane, it offers the operator the possibility of keeping the tractor in the middle of the row or with off-set in order to be closer to the right or left vineyard if necessary, both in the intelligent control of the implement (variable rate, foliage presence/density, water requirements, diseases, etc.). In addition, it ensures security through object detection and tilt against

The most important innovative aspect is to be able to transform an existing tractor into a “ROBOT ON DEMAND” thus allowing any existing tractor operating in the company to:
– become specialized and autonomous where and when needed
– be able to move anywhere without limitations and the need to be transported
– operate without autonomy restrictions
– not require specialized operators
– detect, ship, and log on the web, cell phone/tablet for each vineyard and processing, working times, speed, consumption, agronomic data
– remain available to the company to be able to carry out other functions in other contexts.

A great help, therefore, both to precision farming and sustainability, is to avoid waste and emissions caused by inefficiencies of use and lack of agronomic specifications. It also provides great integration and control in the use, flexibility, and operational availability of the vehicle to safeguard investments and management costs.
