Unlike most automated industries that use AI, farming is still operated manually. It is hard work, not safe, and too often not profitable. 50% of the farmers suffer from injuries and toxic exposure to chemicals. In addition, finding workers is becoming more and more difficult, even in BRIC countries.
Robotic Perception was awarded Horizon 2020 funding to develop autonomous farming robotics for fruit trees. Our autonomous robotics include, for example, a patented robotic sprayer that reduces 50% of the use of pesticides, and autonomous robotic pruning that eliminates the need for work force in the field.
These precision farming capabilities increase safety, reduce use and exposure to chemicals, and make farming more sustainable.
